UTC Time & Live World Clock
The current UTC time and the live time in major world time zones
How to use the world clock
- Each card shows the live time, the date and the UTC offset of one city. The time updates every second.
- Under each city name you see the difference from your own time, for example
+8 h vs. you. It uses the time zone of your device. - To add a city, open the city menu above the cards, search by city, country or time zone (for example
Asia/Tokyo), and press + Add. Remove a card with the × button. - Drag a card to change the order. Your cities and their order are saved in this browser, so they are still there next time.
- Press the copy button on a card to copy its date and time (
2026-10-08 14:30:00), or the button at the top to copy the current Unix timestamp in milliseconds.
UTC offsets and daylight saving time
Every time zone is written as an offset from UTC (Coordinated Universal Time). UTC+09:00 means the clock is 9 hours ahead of UTC; UTC-05:00 means 5 hours behind. Some places use half or quarter hours, such as India (UTC+05:30) and Nepal (UTC+05:45).
Many countries move their clocks one hour forward in summer (daylight saving time, DST). Then their offset changes, so the difference between two cities can change during the year. This clock uses the time zone rules built into your browser, so DST changes are applied automatically on the right day.
| City | Time zone | Standard | Summer (DST) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Los Angeles | America/Los_Angeles | UTC-08:00 | UTC-07:00 |
| New York | America/New_York | UTC-05:00 | UTC-04:00 |
| São Paulo | America/Sao_Paulo | UTC-03:00 | no DST |
| London | Europe/London | UTC+00:00 | UTC+01:00 |
| Paris, Berlin | Europe/Paris | UTC+01:00 | UTC+02:00 |
| Moscow | Europe/Moscow | UTC+03:00 | no DST |
| Dubai | Asia/Dubai | UTC+04:00 | no DST |
| Mumbai, New Delhi | Asia/Kolkata | UTC+05:30 | no DST |
| Singapore | Asia/Singapore | UTC+08:00 | no DST |
| Beijing, Shanghai | Asia/Shanghai | UTC+08:00 | no DST |
| Tokyo | Asia/Tokyo | UTC+09:00 | no DST |
| Sydney | Australia/Sydney | UTC+10:00 | UTC+11:00 |
Summer time in the US starts on the second Sunday of March and ends on the first Sunday of November. In the UK and the EU it runs from the last Sunday of March to the last Sunday of October. In Sydney it runs from the first Sunday of October to the first Sunday of April, because summer there is in the other half of the year.
Frequently asked questions
What time is it in UTC right now?
The Current UTC time panel at the top of this page shows it, updated every second, with the date and the ISO 8601 form (for example 2026-10-13T08:30:00Z). UTC never changes for summer time, so it is a safe reference when you plan with people in other countries.
What is the difference between UTC and GMT?
For everyday use they show the same time. GMT (Greenwich Mean Time) is an old time zone based on the sun at Greenwich, London. UTC is the modern standard based on atomic clocks. Note that London itself is not always on GMT: in summer it uses British Summer Time (UTC+01:00).
How do I find the time difference between two cities?
Add both cities. Each card shows its difference from your time, and you can subtract the two UTC offsets. For example, New York (UTC-05:00) and Tokyo (UTC+09:00) are 14 hours apart in winter, but only 13 hours apart when New York is on summer time (UTC-04:00), because Japan has no DST.
How accurate is this clock?
It shows the time of your device, converted to each time zone. Phones and most computers set their clock from the internet, so it is usually correct to the second. If your device clock is wrong, all cards will be wrong by the same amount.
Will my list of cities be saved?
Yes. Your cities and their order are saved in this browser (local storage) and nothing is sent to a server. On another device or browser you will see the default list until you add your cities there.
What is the Unix timestamp at the top?
It is the number of milliseconds since 1 January 1970, 00:00 UTC. It is the same in every time zone, which is why programs use it to store time. Use the Unix timestamp converter to turn a timestamp into a date and back.
